P O C Bible

The first meeting to establish P O C was held on 9th February 1967 in the Pontifical Seminary Aluva. The Kerala Catholic Bishops Conference held under the presidentship of Rev. Dr. Attippetty, Arch Bishop of Verapoly on 11th January 1968 decided most to establish Pastoral Orientation Center(P O C). The aim of P O C was defined as follows:

To form new thoughts about the church and to impart the teachings of the church to the faithful.

Cardinal Maxmillian Fursternberg inaugurated P O C in Pontifical Seminary Aluva in February 1968.

The following items are included in the activities of P O C:

• Courses in theology catechesis and leadership

• Publication of catechism books and moral books.

• Media commission ,community development trust etc.

• Publication of the complete Bible.

• Staging Biblical Dramas and celebrating Bible Arts Festival.

• Translation and publication of Encyclicals, Apostolic exhortations etc.
